September 2026
Dear El Monte Union Community,
September has been a meaningful month across El Monte Union, bringing our community together around initiatives and celebrations that support our students.
During Attendance Awareness Month, the District emphasized the value of being present each day and how regular attendance helps students stay engaged, connected, and on track for success. Hispanic Heritage Month gave us an opportunity to celebrate the cultures, stories, and contributions that enrich our schools, while Suicide Prevention Month highlighted the power of looking out for one another and ensuring students know they are supported.
Our Back-to-School Nights also brought families onto campus to meet teachers, explore programs, and start the school year strong, together.
We capped off the month with a special celebration of El Monte Union and El Monte High School’s (EMHS) 125th anniversary with generations of Lions honoring its history, pride, and lasting legacy while looking ahead to the future.
Stay up to date by following our District Facebook page and downloading our ParentSquare apps.
Sincerely,
Edward Zuniga, Ed.D.
