Trustee Area Process History

The District formation process began in May 2021 and was led by professional demographers and a legal team to ensure the maps under consideration met legal and regulatory criteria, and a public involvement team to ensure the process was inclusive and transparent.

The process included two community information sessions in May 2021, five community open houses in October 2021, seven public hearings, six community pop-up events, six community group presentations, opportunities to meet with the mapping team, and featured a dedicated website to house all of the resources prior to the decision being made.

  • Trustee Area 1 is in the west edge of the District and includes the areas of North El Monte.
  • Trustee Area 2 runs along the Eastern quarter of the District, mostly in El Monte.
  • Trustee Area 3 is located North and South of the I-10 freeway and includes Rosemead and areas of El Monte.
  • Trustee Areas 4 and 5 runs North/South parallel to each other along Tyler Ave. and includes primarily South El Monte in area 5 and parts of El Monte in area 4.

The El Monte Union High School District Board of Trustees adopted a final trustee map "NDC Green 3" during a meeting on Feb. 2, 2022 following a series of community open houses and public hearings where comments and input were received from the public.

The Arroyo High School attendance area falls under Trustee Areas 1, 2, and 3; South El Monte High School falls under Areas 4 and 5; Rosemead High School falls under Areas 1 and 3; Mountain View High School falls under Areas 2 and 4; and El Monte High School falls under Areas 2, 3, 4, and 5.
