Hello and welcome to the El Monte Union High School District. We're incredibly excited to announce that we are in our 2nd year of a powerful new instructional learning initiative known as "Access for All", which will encompass all of our 9-12th grade students for the foreseeable future.
Education within the 21st century demands that our students communicate, collaborate, create, and apply critical thinking skills, all within an ever-expanding digital learning environment. It is due to this significant shift that El Monte Union must ensure that access to our curriculum and resources will never become a barrier for your student’s education. Therefore, we have made “Access for All” an essential district goal, which has led us to an amazing announcement that we’ll be providing students with their own dedicated laptop for both school and home use.
To complement this 1:1 student to laptop initiative, we’re equally excited to introduce a terrific new partnership between El Monte Union and Project 10 Million (P10M), to provide FREE mobile internet access to any student who requires it. These are just some of the many celebrations going on here at El Monte Union and we’re so glad that you’re here to receive your all-access pass to it all!
Within this resource website, you'll find everything you need to know about the program including how to become eligible to receive your 1:1 devices, how to request the optional wireless internet hotspot through the P10M program, view orientation & program tutorial videos, answer frequently asked questions, and much more. Please utilize the navigation links provided on the left to learn all about the Access for All initiative.
Program Eligibility Requirements
As part of the Access for All program, all comprehensive high school students are eligible to receive a Chromebook, charger, carrying case, and the optional wireless internet hotspot (MiFi) device for take-home use. The only two requirements of this program are as follows:
1) The student, as well as parent or guardian, must sign the online Student Technology Usage Agreement form.
2) All students must watch the Access for All 1:1 Orientation video, which is also embedded within the online form.
Once these two small requirements are met, the student's account will be updated within our system and will become eligible to have the 1:1 equipment checked out to student during the school's registration week (early August annually) or as the student enrolls into the district.
Optional Project 10 Million Free Internet Program
For students who would also like to participate in the optional Project 10 Million program offering to receive a free wireless internet device (MiFi), the student and parent or guardian must also sign the additional P10M online application before the device can be ordered and assigned to the student.
