A Message from Superintendent Dr. Edward Zuniga — Finding Gratitude in Every Season

Dear El Monte Union Community,
As the season of gratitude arrives, I find myself reflecting on what it truly means to give thanks, not just for what we have but for who we have beside us. In a time when the world can feel heavy, our El Monte Union community continues to be a source of light, compassion, and purpose.
Each day, I see the best of humanity in our schools, in the patience of our teachers, the determination of our students, and the quiet acts of kindness that often go unseen but never unnoticed. These moments remind me that even amid uncertainty, hope is something we build together.
I am deeply thankful for our educators and staff who pour their hearts into their work, for our families who place their trust in us, and for our students whose curiosity and courage inspire everything we do.
As we prepare for our Holiday break from Monday, November 24 through Friday, November 28, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, reflect, and enjoy moments of connection with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming our students and staff back on Monday, December 1, refreshed and ready to finish the semester strong.
Warm regards,
Dr. Edward Zuniga
Superintendent
