Fernando R. Ledesma High School is a continuation high school committed to a mission of providing students with a personalized alternative education program in a safe, caring environment that focuses on state and district instructional standards, enabling students to develop into successful, productive citizens.
Alternative approaches to learning and flexible academic programs are utilized to better serve the special needs of these students. The Guaranteed Guidance Program ensures that all students have an equal opportunity in all classes in all subject areas, placement is monitored by an ongoing assessment of student needs and the adjustment of programs as needs change. The school's mission supports the mission and goals of the El Monte Union High School District.

Fernando R. Ledesma High Named a 2018 Model Continuation School
Fernando R. Ledesma High School is one of 32 schools in the state to be recognized as a 2018 Model Continuation High School, a designation awarded by the California Department of Education to schools that provide exemplary programs to at-risk youth through the use of innovative instructional strategies, flexible scheduling, and guidance and counseling services. “Every day, our teachers and staff unite in their shared goal of addressing our students’ academic, social and emotional well-being, while cultivating a safe and caring learning environment in which they can overcome obstacles and succeed,” Principal Freddy Arteaga said. “Being among the few schools selected across the state as Model Continuation High Schools is a testament to the supportive culture we have worked hard to foster.” click story title for more...

El Monte Union High School District’s (EMUHSD) male students honed their leadership abilities through workshops during the District’s inaugural CABALLEROS: California Boys Acquiring Lifelong Learner Educational Resources On Success Event on Nov. 18 at El Monte High School (EMHS), which included keynote speakers and activities geared toward personal growth and success.

Longo Toyota’s Online Auction Proceeds to Benefit El Monte Union Students
Longo Toyota, the world’s largest Toyota dealership, hosted an online auction for a Limited Edition 2023 Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO from October 18 to 24, with all proceeds set to be donated to the El Monte Union High School District, El Monte City School District and Vision To Learn.

El Monte Union Welcomes Four New Assistant Principals
The top administrative positions at three El Monte Union campuses have a new look for the 2023-24 school year, with four new assistant principals joining El Monte, Mountain View and Rosemead high schools. The new administrators are Sarah McLarty and Brian Covey at El Monte High School; Sandra Salge at Rosemead High School; and Anh Ligutom at Mountain View High School. Covey, Salge and Ligutom are all new to El Monte Union, while McLarty was most recently El Monte High’s athletic director.
