The El Monte Union High School District Student Scholarship Fund is a combined effort to support our students with their college endeavors.  The contributors to the scholarship fund include, but are not limited to, the El Monte Union High School District Administrators’ Association (DAA), El Monte Union Educators’ Association (EMUEA), EMUEA-Adult Education, Classified Management, Classified Confidential Employees, and the California School Employees Association, Chapter 11.

Scholarships are annually awarded to students at each of our comprehensive high schools, the continuation school, and adult school.  100% of the money raised goes directly to our district’s students.  For the year 2023, $14,000 was awarded to 62 deserving students. In the past 31 years, $395,700 has been awarded to 1,522 students.  Each year we receive many letters from the recipients of the scholarships expressing their gratitude, such as those listed below.

Staff members who wish to donate or increase their current contribution to the EMUHSD Student Scholarship Fund can do so by contacting the principal's secretary at your site or the Payroll Department.

Those who would like to make a one-time donation can do so by contacting the El Monte Union High School District - Curriculum and Instruction Department (626) 444-9005 or by mailing a check to The El Monte Union High School District, 3537 Johnson Ave., El Monte, CA.  91731.  Please make your check payable to EMUHSD Student Scholarship Fund.

We thank all who contribute. Your generous gift can make a big difference in the lives of our students.

    Dear Scholarship Donor,

I am sincerely grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the EMUHSD Scholarship.  Thanks to your generosity, this scholarship will help me pursue my educational goal of becoming a registered nurse in the future and help those in need.  I am a senior at Mountain View High School on the verge of graduating in a couple of days.  I will continue my education at Azusa Pacific University where I will major in Nursing & Honor Humanities.  Upon my graduation from APU, I hope to work as a travel nurse for a couple of years and then transition to working at a children's hospital to get the opportunity to heal, motivate and care for my patients and their families.  By being one of the recipients of the EMUHSD Scholarship, I will be able to continue my education and pay for any needed expenses.  I hope one day I get the opportunity to help high school graduates like myself achieve their goals and pursue their dreams just like you have helped me.

Sincerely, Jessica Guerrero, Mountain View High School C/O 2021

    Dear EMUHSD,

First of all, I want to say thank you to this organization of "El Monte Union High School District Scholarship - EMUHSD," for having presented this scholarship for me means that you believe in me, and it is something that makes me happy, and wanting to pursue my dreams.  I want to say that I am going to work hard, and I'm going to do my best.  So that this scholarship is not a waste but also bears fruit.  In the end, I want to thank you so much and thank you!!!  And I hope God keeps blessing this organization.

Sincerely, Edwin Santiago Morales. M, Mountain View High School C/O 2021

Dear Ms. Autran and the EMUHSD Student Scholarship Fund Committee,

I first want to say Thank you!  Honestly, when you first said I was getting a scholarship I thought it was a joke.  Having it now feels different.  Honestly, I feel like I don't deserve it, but if you gave it to me it means you see something I don't. It gives me hope that hard work doesn't go unnoticed and it also pays off.  I will use this money for necessities like school supplies and food for my mini-fridge.  Again, from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate it, and thank you very much.

Your student, Nefthali Burciaga, Mountain View High School C/O 2021
