• Goals and Plan of Action:

    1. Increase reading comprehension in all students.
      1. Reading comprehension average scores will increase by 2% as measured on the Illuminate Interim Exams
      2. Reading comprehension scores will increase by 1% as measured on the CAASPP exam for 11th graders
    2. Increase student participation for unit essays for all students
      1. Increase the participation rate for unit essays by 2% for all levels as measured by the Turnitin.com data
        1. The participation rate for English 1P (based on cumulative unit essay data for 2017-18) 
        2. The participation rate for English 2P (based on cumulative unit essay data for 2017-18) 
        3. The participation rate for English 3P (based on cumulative unit essay data for 2017-18) 
        4. The participation rate for English 4P (based on cumulative unit essay data for 2017-18) 
    3. Improve quality research used in argumentation.
      1. Increase the average textual evidence score by 1% for all level research papers
    4. Decrease the number of Fs in English classes.
      1. Decrease the number of F’s in all English classes by 2% as measured by the Turnitin.com data.
        1. F rate for English 1P (based on 2017-18 Fall Semester percentages) is 28%
        2. F rate for English 2P (based on 2017-18 Fall Semester percentages) is 25%
        3. F rate for English 3P (based on 2017-18 Fall Semester percentages) is 14%
        4. F rate for English 4P (based on 2017-18 Fall Semester percentages) is 12%
    5. Teachers of regular P level courses will collaborate and discuss assessments, instructional materials, and data.
      1. Every collaboration, teachers will upload materials to Google Drive for others to use.
      2. By the end of the school year. Each course level will adapt materials and create interventions for struggling students and SPED. (1 sample required)
      3. Edit Appendix and create instructional materials that are specific to each unit essay.
    6. Increase Advanced Placement scores
      1. The number of 3, 4 and 5 AP scores will increase by 2% as measured by the specific individual AP tests.
        1. English Language and Composition 3-5 Score average (based on 2017 exams) is 68%
        2. English Literature and Composition 3-5 Score average (based on 2017 exams) is 62%
    7. Realign ALD Curriculum to District Course Outline and increase the use of computer-based software for individual remediation.
      1. Teachers will collaborate to realign the current curriculum to the district approved course outline.
      2. Teachers will plan for 2018-2019 to implement the use of READ 180 and other intervention software to increase student achievement in:
        1. Reading comprehension
        2. Writing
        3. Research
        4. Listening and speaking skills
        5. Gramma
