Department Goals

• Increase the number of students meeting or exceeding the standards by 2.11% (from 47.89% to 50.00%) of their overall achievement in CAASPP assessment.
• Reduce the overall number of students scoring Below Standard on the Problem Solving and Modeling/Data Analysis Claim by 2.00%
• Reduce the overall number of students scoring Below standards on the Communicating Reasoning Claim by 2.00% on the CAASPP Exam.

Plan of Action

• Use ALEKS in all IM1, IM2, and IM3 classes and incorporating it into our unit design and lesson plans.
• Demonstrate CSG program implementation in our Integrated Math classes.
• Use an IM1 lab concurrently with our IM1 classes to help develop the skills of our underperforming students.
• Implement Teacher Lesson Studies this year
• We will be assessing our students on a minute-by-minute basis instead of waiting to give a test at the end of a unit.
• Implement MP#3 & MP#6 of the 8 Mathematical Practices in our lesson and unit development.  Do not forget about the other 6 MP’s though.
• Embedding Performance task in the unit design
