    El Monte High School will graduate students with the knowledge and skills to be resourceful and innovative life-long learners that are college and career ready in an evolving technological society.

Along with the refreshed look and feel comes improvements for mobile device viewing, up to date calendar of events, on-the-fly language translations, & more multimedia opportunities (e.g. images, videos and social media integration.

  • EMHS Educator Receives $3,000 Scholarship for Community Outreach

    Growing up as the daughter of immigrants, El Monte High School educator Elisa Perez was an English learner who dreamed of graduating from an elite university and returning to her community to help a new generation of students realize their potential and reach their goal of attaining higher education. Perez has served El Monte and San Gabriel Valley families in many capacities since graduating from El Monte High in 2001: as a community liaison for the Migrant Education Program; as an instructor for the Harvey Mudd Upward Bound program; as a presenter for the Parent Involvement Academy and as an Inspire Women’s Conference Steering Committee member.   • EMHS Auditorium Bring Magic of the Arts to Students, Community

    The Sugar Plum Fairy and her flock of snowflakes were among the more than 70 international ballet dancers who delicately waltzed, leaped and pirouetted during a magical performance of holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker,” in front of a sold-out crowd of students and families at El Monte High School’s auditorium on Dec. 10. Hidden from the audience, those staging the elaborate production – 14 El Monte Union theater technicians who bustled backstage to ensure that the countless props were in place, lighting and sound were precise, and transitions between scenes were seamless.   • El Monte Union Seniors Celebrate Futures with College Signing Events

    Hundreds of graduating seniors from El Monte Union’s comprehensive high schools celebrated their commitments to colleges and universities during College Signing Day ceremonies in May. Arroyo, El Monte, Mountain View, Rosemead and South El Monte high schools celebrated seniors pursuing their academic endeavors and showcased the college-going culture each campus has cultivated to inspire and prepare students for success.

  • Wendy MacLellan Named 2019 Classified Employee of the Year

    El Monte-Rosemead Adult School receptionist Wendy MacLellan has been named El Monte Union's 2019 Classifed Employee of the Year. MacLellan has worked at the front desk of the adult school, greeting thousands of students throughout the year and helping them enroll in their classes.

  • El Monte Union Celebrates LGBTQ Pride Month

    Dozens of El Monte Union community members gathered on Valley Boulevard on May 15 to raise a rainbow flag that will fly at the District office throughout June in celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month. The event was held to celebrate the identities and contributions of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community and ensure students belonging to the community feel supported and included.

    Rosemead High School senior Heather Huynh was recently recognized by the Board of Trustees for her service as the Student Board Member for the 2018-2019 school year.
