Voter Registration for 16+ Year Old Students and Family Members

  • The El Monte Union High School District encourages ALL our 16+-year-old students and family members to complete the Voter registration and cast their ballot on Election Day when you turn 18!

    How to complete your voter registration:

    Online pre-registration is available for eligible 16 and 17-year-old students by visiting registertovote.ca.gov. California youth who pre-register to vote will have their registration become active on their 18th birthday.

    Pre-registration does not change the voting age, which is 18. Instead, it allows eligible Californians ages 16 and/or 17-year old students to complete the online voter registration form providing sufficient time and opportunity to get ready to vote.

    The new online pre-registration applies to California youth who are 16 or 17 and meet the following criteria:
