(ASCA) Career Development Domain
At Arroyo High School, counselors help students understand the connection between school and the world of work by promoting Career Vocational Education programs and encouraging students to apply for part-time jobs. The counselors' plan for each student also includes the successful transition from high school to postsecondary education and/or the world of work. In addition, by focusing on promotional skills and better opportunities, Arroyo's students are taught how to successfully transition from job to job across their life span.

Vocational Courses Offered (Formerly ROP)
Today all students must be educated at high levels so they are prepared for both a skilled job and advanced post-secondary training. It is no longer a matter of "either/or." The Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Regional Occupational Program (ROP) strive to provide a star-quality program in career awareness, exploration, and preparation. These programs maintain high academic standards while exposing students to the potential opportunities in the adult world of work. Participation in ROP will enhance student’s career opportunities. ROP training provides students with self-satisfaction and a sense of pride as well as entry-level job skills to obtain, maintain, and advance in their chosen career area.
