• Custodial Maintenance Technician

    Basic Custodial Building Maintenance

    This course covers the basic aspects of custodial and janitorial work. Course includes general cleaning techniques, cleaning equipment use and maintenance, cleaning chemicals, window care, maintaining hard floors, carpet and upholstery care, chemical hazards, Cal OSHA regulations, and handling of infectious waste as they apply to the janitorial industry. This course is designed to provide knowledge, training and practical work experience for students preparing for employment in the building maintenance industry. This course also includes the instruction of “soft skills” such as the ability to accept supervision positive interaction with fellow employee’s work ethic, punctuality, and initiative.

    Advanced Custodial Building Maintenance

    This course is designed to provide advanced knowledge, training and practical work experience. Students will also prepare for advancement in their careers in the Building Maintenance industry. This course also includes the instruction of “soft skills” such as the ability to accept supervision, positive interaction with fellow employee’s, work ethics, punctuality, and initiative.

    Custodial Supervision

    This course is designed to review the qualifications and responsibilities of a custodial supervisor. Topics will include: Safety & Security, Recycling, Preventive Maintenance, Personnel Issues, Employee Training, Scheduling, and Purchasing.
