What is a Thespian?

  • Thespians are inducted members of the International Thespian Society, an honor society just for students of theatre.  Students earn Thespian points for work on productions, approximately 1 point per 10 hours of excellent work on stage or back stage for a performance.  Once a student earns ten points (100 hours), they are eligible for induction into the ITS.  Active Thespians are eligible for reduced registration fees to Thespian events, and seniors may wear honor cords at graduation.  Membership is life-long.

International Thespian Society Troupe #3312

  • The club serves to honor and promote excellence in theatre.  Club participation gives students opportunities and scholarships not available to students outside of the club.  For example, club members may participate in the annual haunted house or attend high school theatre competitions just like advanced theatre students.  The troupe honors the achievements of Arroyo's student performers and stage technicians at our annual, year-end awards banquet.
