Hall Passes
Any student out of class during instructional time must have his/her digital hall pass approved (SmartPasss) signed by the teacher. Students without approval will be sent back to class. Students are to go to approved areas when leaving the classroom.Tardy Policy

All tardies to school will receive an automated call home.

All students who are late to school will receive an automated scripted message informing parents that their student was late to school. This call will be triggered by a teacher marking a student tardy to class. Calls are made daily.

No outside food or beverages allowed when late.
Students who are late to school will not be allowed to enter class with purchased foods or beverages. Students will need to return the items to their parents, their vehicle or choose to dispose of them.
ID Cards
All South El Monte High School students are issued a free official school ID with their photograph. Students must have their student ID cards in their possession at all times while on campus and at off-campus school events. Cards must be presented upon request to any school or district representative. Failure to comply is subject to disciplinary action.Students who lose their ID card must purchase a replacement card from the Activities office or SEMHS Student Store. Replacement cost is $5 for a new ID card or $3 for a new ASB card.
