El Monte Union Announces Hiring of New Rosemead High School Principal
Janine Salanitro, a veteran high school administrator, has been named the new principal of Rosemead High School.
El Monte Union High School District is excited to welcome Janine Salanitro, a veteran high school administrator and proven leader, as the new principal of Rosemead High School.
Salanitro has more than two decades of experience in education and spent the last 10 years as an assistant principal at four high schools. She also served as a middle school and high school classroom teacher for 10 years. She brings with her an expertise in guidance, student support services, staff mentoring and instructional planning and implementation.
“I am honored to have been chosen as the principal of Rosemead High School,” Salanitro said. “This year marks my 24th year in education. I have lived in the San Gabriel Valley my entire life and look forward to serving my community in this new role. Rosemead High School has a long tradition of excellence, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Panther family. I look forward to working collaboratively with staff, students, parents and the Rosemead community.”
Most recently, Salanitro served as the assistant principal of guidance and curriculum at Trabuco Hills High School for the past two years, following a four-year tenure at Burbank High from 2016-20. Her first assistant principal position was at Fontana High School in 2015-16, where she oversaw discipline, after she served as the dean of students at Victor Valley High School in 2013-15.
She completed two Master of Arts degrees, with the first in education from the University of La Verne and the second in educational administration from Concordia University of Irvine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human development from California State University, San Bernardino.
