JOIN US: Annual Tamalada Fundraiser to Honor South El Monte High Teacher

Join us as we celebrate the 16th Annual Tamalada fundraiser on Thursday, Dec. 12, where South El Monte High School teacher Ms. Tam Ly Wong will be honored with this year's Bobby Salcedo Esperanza Award! Tam Wong

The honor is given to outstanding educators who exemplify Salcedo’s tireless commitment to education. Ms. Wong, a longtime business teacher at El Monte Union exemplifies passion, inspiration and empathy, constantly going above and beyond for students. She has helped develop the CTE finance pathway and devotes her free time to mentoring FBLA students and taking them to competitions.

The Tamalada, which will raise funds to support the El Monte Promise Foundation’s college savings account program, will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Grace T. Black Auditorium, 3130 Tyler Ave., El Monte. Tickets start at $25.

The Tamalada is hosted by the Foundation and partnering entities that are dedicated to working with parents, school districts and community groups to cultivate a college-going culture in El Monte.
