• Measure D Bond Citizens Oversight Committee

    BCOC Logo

In November 2008, Measure D was approved by the voters of El Monte to support a new bond in the amount $148 million. The goal of the bond was to ensure safe high school campuses, better prepare local students for college as well as high demand jobs and finally to rehabilitate, acquire, construct and modernize our classrooms, buildings, and sites.
Since it's inception, community members have been seeing the physical improvements being made to the schools.  Parents and students have seen the improvements in the form of enhanced teaching methods, upgraded technology, and increased levels of success for graduation and the preparedness for college, universities or trade schools.
An active oversight committee is part of the accountability process of all monies received and implemented to ensure even check and balances.  The committee consists of up to ten persons of the 5 groups listed and meet on a quarterly basis.
