Congratulations to El Monte High School social science teacher Sara Quezada, who continues to make El Monte Union proud. Following her recent recognition as the District’s 2025-26 Teacher of the Year, Quezada has been named a recipient of the 2025 Bobby Salcedo Esperanza Award by the El Monte Promise Foundation and El Monte Coalition of Latino Professionals (emCLP). 
 
This distinguished honor celebrates educators and community leaders who embody dedication, equity, and a passion for student success. Quezada and fellow honorees will be recognized during the 22nd Annual Tamalada Gala from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, at the Grace T. Black Auditorium, 3130 Tyler Ave El Monte.
