The District and EMUEA met on April 11, 2017, to continue the negotiations process. The District proposed a 2% on salary schedule increase and a 2% off salary schedule payment retroactive to July 1, 2016. In the form of a separate MOU, the District also proposed that the work calendar be increased by 2 days for a total of 184 work days in order to include 2 professional development days to be implemented by the District with input from all stakeholders. The 2 professional development days will only be added to the work calendar in school years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. In exchange for the 2 PD days in school years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, the District proposed a 1.1% off salary schedule payment in school year 2017-2018, and a 1.1% off salary schedule payment in school year 2018-2019. The District and EMUEA will resume negotiations on May 10, 2017.
